During the media launch of “The Super Parental Guardians” at the Impressions restaurant, Maxim’s Hotel in Resorts World Manila, Box Office star Vice Ganda clarified that he was not offended by the exclusion of his film from the official list of entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2016).
Star Cinema’s “The Super Parental Guardians” starring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin is one of the films that did not make the cut at the MMFF 2016.
“After reading the tweets, I did not feel offended at all,” said Vice Ganda.
The comedian believes that this year’s MMFF selection committee and moviegoers have different taste when it comes to films they’d like to see. He said quality is a subjective matter.
Vice Ganda said, “The word quality is subjective. What is quality to you might not be quality to me. Kaya hindi tayo pwede magtalo-talo na ito ang quality.”
The “It’s Showtime” host further explained, “When you give the people what they want to have and what they want to feel after watching the movie. ‘Yung paglabas nila ng sinehan, nakuha ng tao ang gusto niyang makuha pagkatapos ng pelikula na yun. Yun ang quality. At nararamdaman ko, all my movies were all quality dahil ang mga gustong maramdaman ng mga tao ay nakuha nila.”
Vice Ganda has been breaking box-office records since he starred in the following MMFF entries – “Sisterakas” (2012), “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy” (2013), “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” (2014), and “Beauty and the Bestie” (2015).
