Star Cinema will not pull out its entry, the teen romantic comedy “Vince & Kath & James,” from this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) just because of the 30% discount initiated by this year’s MMFF Committee.
MMFF believes that the 30% for those students, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens will encourage more people to watch the entries in this year’s Christmastime film fest.
The MMFF Committee later on decided to make it optional to the producers and with the cooperation of cinemas and other stakeholders of the movie industry.
Directed by Ted Boborol, “Vince & Kath & James” stars Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte, Maris Racal, and Joshua Garcia. The movie is an adaptation of an online series, which went viral, that told the story of two lovestruck teens, Vince and Kath, through a series text conversations.
