- Darren Espanto reacts on Jed Madela’s statement that their friendship is on the rocks
- He simply answered that no matter what, they “can still be friends”
Prior to the rumors spreading that there must be something going on between renowned singer Jed Madela and teen music sensation Darren Espanto, the young one responded towards the issue.
During his press conference with Malysian singer Nik Qistina last night at Marco Polo Ortigas, Darren was asked about his reaction to what his “Kuya” Jed said regarding the controversy.
“We can still be friends.”
It was a simple answer but it should speak once and for all. He later lectured about the cons of social media and the people around it.
“On social media, I guess I limit myself as well to what i’m saying, what I post,” he says. “I guess negative feedback, I don’t really dwell on it. Hindi ko pinapansin nalang.”
Earlier in May, Jed was spotted during the Moving Up ceremony of Darren in his school. This lead to netizens speculating something “fishy.” They immediately put malice on the friendship.
Jed is now feeling bad about the broken bond, says things are not the same with them anymore.
“I’ve always been a kuya to Darren ever since he started. Ngayon na (now that) he is already finding his spot in the industry, I can’t help but be very proud of him. And for these people to come to the limelight and bash and give meaning, nakakasakit ng damdamin (it hurts my feelings),” he told Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP).
