“A remake that keeps up to the original”.
That is how I will characterize GMA network’s latest offering, Impostora.
A remake of the 2007 series starring Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon, the millennial Impostora top billed Kris Bernal showed promise that could follow the fate of its predecessor.
The Pilot Week
Kapuso is solidifying its afternoon prime line-up with the addition of Impostora.
Replacing D’Originals, Impostora didn’t disappoint as it registered well in the rating’s board. During its pilot episode last July 10, 2017, Impostora posted 6.0% ratings, 1.6% higher than competitor Pusong Ligaw which registered a ratings of 4.4%.
With that rating, Impostora immediately climbs to the number 4 position of the daytime ranking.
Same fate as the original
Impostora’s rating was not totally different from the original one. Looking at the trend line of their AGB numbers, the two shows evidently has the similar pattern during their pilot week.
The Impostora original averaged 28.4% first week ratings while the remake got an average of 6.3% both on almost identical trend line.
The result of its first week is a great welcome development to GMA’s efforts. After failing to live up to the hype of its other remake cum prequel and sequel
After failing to live up to the hype of its other remake cum prequel cum sequel telefantasyas, this Impostora remake may be the network’s one great asset to further solidify its stronghold in the afternoon programming and recover from the disappointing results of their primetime lineup.
