Umagang Kay Ganda host Atom Araullo released his official statement about his departure from Kapamilya Network.
Rumors are spreading about Atom’s comeback to GMA home turf.
Umagang Kay Ganda host Atom Araullo decided to leave ABS-CBN after 13 years of working as a journalist for the said network. He announced his departure from the Kapamilya Network on UKG.
He also posted his official farewell statement on his Instagram post stating his gratefulness towards the network’s contribution on his career. Before his permanent separation to his home network, Atom left the News Department of ABS-CBN a few months ago.
Several reasons were cited including for being vocal on a certain social and political issues that may affect his credibility and objectivity as a journalist. He later announced his first movie as a lead role on Mike de Leon’s Citizen Jake.
However, upon the release of his official statement, speculations began to spread like fire about his rumored comeback at GMA Network. Atom’s career started at 5 And Up, a television show at ABC 5 (now TV 5).
The show was soon transferred to GMA 7. After that, Atom did several shows in Kapuso Network before transferring to ABS CBN.
Both GMA Network and Atom neither confirm nor deny the transfer. However, on a blind item segment “Sino?” that was aired over Super Radyo DZBB, hosts Mike Enriquez, Arnold Clavio and Susan Enriquez hinted about a reporter joining the Kapuso Network.
The anchors shared obvious clues pointing on Atom Araullo’s comeback. According to their sources, press conference is set next week.
