Filipinos love for basketball is evident as ABS-CBN’s coverage of the 2016 NBA finals scores good ratings among Mega Manila viewers.
In the survey conducted by AGB Nielsen from June 13-17, 2016, “NBA Finals” led the Kapamilya shows in the daytime ranking. The basketball finals which featured Golden State Warriors and Cleaveland Cavaliers landed in top 3 on Tuesday, June 14 with 16.2% ratings. It even went up on Friday, June 17 at number 2 (following “Eat Bulaga!”) with the ratings of 19.8%.
While the “NBA Finals” was able to pull off good numbers for ABS-CBN, primetime teleserye “The Story of Us” failed to win their timeslot on their finale episode. The KimXi starrer teleserye was unsuccessful to pull off finale luck as rival show “Juan Happy Love Story” dominated their timeslot. “The Story of Us” ended at number 9 of the primetime ratings board with 12.7%.
Meanwhile, “Eat Bulaga!” remains the undisputed daytime leader and “24 Oras” continues to rule the primetime race.
