Jim put out Php 1 million reward to whoever will corroborate the alleged information
66-year-old veteran entertainment figure Jim Paredes grew furious over some ‘fake news’ that dragged his name on an alleged delayed fight at the airport.
According to the information going around social media, Jim was reluctant to sit beside a Japanese man wearing a shirt with President Rodrigo Duterte’s face on it.
Jim immediately denied that he was on that flight and place, contrary to the article.
He posted his rage on Twitter and called out whoever wrote it as “desperate.” “”Fake news again about me. Is this how desperate they are? Pls RT””
In a follow-up post, Jim preached a lesson to the believers of ‘fake news.’
According to him, they all deserve receiving false information as they are easy to buy it. “To believers of fake news, U deserve to be lied to. If anyone can produce a photo of me on the plane or in Bacolod last 9/13, i will give 1M”
The Apo Hiking Society member even added that he will give money, amounting to Php 1 million, to whoever can surface a photo as evidence of him being on that plane or in Bacolod last September 13.
Jim also added, “Pinoy Observer is a FAKE news site. Don’t even visit it. It gives them revenue when you do.”
Jim is known for his various contributions to Filipinos’ entertainment and in art. He’s most prominent solo work is 1986′ “Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo“, which has come to be known as the anthem of the 1986 People Power Revolution. Among his published books are, “Humming In My Universe: Random Takes on Everything,” “Between Blinks,” “Writing On Water,” “As Is Where Is.”
Jim also acted as host or judge of Kapamilya television shows. To name a few, “Pinoy Dream Academy,” “Tatak Pilipino,” and “Search for the Star in a Million.”
