Kapamilya journalist Atom “The Guy in the Rain” Araullo has resigned as a news reporter of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs according to columnist Noel Ferrer.
He will, however, remain to be a Kapamilya as he will continue to host ABS-CBN’s morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” and late-night “Red Alert.”
Atom chose to keep mum as to why he resigned from ABS-CBN as reporter.
Before he became a journalist, he was a student activist during his university days. Just recently, Atom expressed strong opinion on issues regarding the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Atom became a Kapamilya in 2006 via informative sports program produced by ABS-CBN Foundation titled “Basta Sports” and became part of “Umagang KayGanda” in 2009.
