  • Funlasang Pinoy Year 2 celebrates the diversity of Filipino culinary talent and dishes
  • Unilever Food Solutions’ Funlasang Pinoy returns grander, as the competition searches for three of the country’s most talented and innovative chefs and cooks

While Filipino diners are being exposed to an array and fusion of internationally-inspired flavors and textures (not to mention the global chains!), there is no denying that there is nothing more comforting than the aroma and taste of our own cuisine. Inspired from and reflective of our diverse cultures and rich heritage, Filipino dishes are created from a medley of spices and ingredients, and can make for some of the most exciting dishes, both at home and abroad.

Filipino food doesn’t always have to mean pork sinigang, chicken adobo, or beef kare kare. With some of the most talented chefs at the forefront of championing modern takes on Filipino dishes, culinary triumphs take the form of bold remakes of our classic favorites. If you haven’t tried octopus sisig, sisig pasta, or grilled sinigang yet, then you have definitely been missing out! These are just three of the nine innovative Filipino food discoveries that made it to the finals of the first-ever Funlasang Pinoy held last year.

With the aim of inspiring chefs and cooks nationwide to keep putting an exciting twist on classic Pinoy dishes, Funlasang Pinoy is a culinary competition initiated by Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) Philippines and Knorr® to provide an avenue for Filipino chefs and cooks to showcase their talents through whipping up innovative home-grown dish recipes. Now on its second year, Funlasang Pinoy returns grander as the competition goes nationwide.

For 2018, Funlasang Pinoy is not only in search for one, but three of the country’s most talented chefs who will reinvent classic Pinoy favorites crispy pata, adobo, kare-kare, bulalo, and sisig. Instead of a sole winner and one national cook-off, one winner will each be hailed from the competition’s Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao legs set to happen within July to August of this year.

“It’s such an honor to have been the first-ever winner of the competition and I’m just glad that UFS is continuing to provide an avenue for Filipino chefs and cooks to showcase their talents and ideas,” said Chef Dan Puga, the chef of last year’s winning octopus sisig dish. “This year, I am very excited to see how even more chefs and cooks will re-create Filipino classics in distinctive and extraordinary ways.”

Call for Discoveries

Filipino cooks and chefs from across the country may join the competition. The challenge is to create delicious and innovative recipes of the classic crispy pata, adobo, kare-kare, bulalo, and sisig using Knorr® products. Interested participants may submit their entries to the UFS website, www.unileverfoodsolutions.com.ph, until June 30, 2018.

Submitted dishes will be judged according to the following criteria: creativity of the twist, food presentation, and the use of Knorr® products in the recipe. On July 15, the top 10 finalists per region will be announced and the on-ground cook-offs will happen in July for Luzon and in August for Visayas and Mindanao.

The three winners of the competition will each get to take home Php100,000 cash prize. More than the monetary grant, and true to UFS’ mission of helping chefs and creating a bigger impact in the Philippine culinary scene, all three winning chefs will also be invited to attend the UFS Chefmanship Academy Program where they can further expand their culinary knowledge through mentorships from esteemed chefs in the country.

“Funlasang Pinoy is more than just a culinary competition; it is about providing a platform for Filipino chefs and cooks nationwide to showcase their talents and at the same time be given the recognition that they very much deserve,” said James Benedict Carreon, Managing Director of UFS Philippines. “Funlasang Pinoy is about showcasing the Filipino culinary talent and innovation across the country, and the distinct yet remarkable ways that local dishes are taken to brand new heights – making us extremely proud along the way. It is equally about celebrating the very best of our native ingredients and flavors that are some of the most special in the world.”

Ombudsman files graft and falsification charges versus Roderick Paulate

  • The Office of the Ombudsman charged Roderick Paulate with graft & falsification.
  • Ombudsman also filed the said charges in April 25, Wednesday.
  • Roderick allegedly hired ghost employees.

The Office of the Ombudsman recently charged Roderick Paulate with graft and falsification on April 25, Wednesday. Allegedly, Roderick hired ghost employees, someone recorded on the payroll system who does not work for the business, in 2010. The ghost employees can be a real person who consented to be named on the payroll.

However, the ghost employees can be fictitious which a dishonest employer had created.

Roderick will face one count of graft, one count of falsification by a public officer. He will also face eight counts of falsification of public documents. Reports also suggest that Roderick and his driver Vicente Bajamunde already falsified the July payroll to make it look like several employees received their pay.

In an earlier report from ABS-CBN News, the Ombudsman said that two have dues to the Quezon City government amounting to Php 1, 109, 000 from August to November of 2010.

The Ombudsman recommended a total bail bond of Php 246, 000 for Roderick. Meanwhile, the Ombudsman recommended Php 30, 000 for Vicente.

Adrian Ayalin recently tweeted proof of the said charges against Roderick.

“Ombudsman files graft and falsification charges vs. actor and Quezon City Councilor Roderick Paulate for the hiring of ghost employees in 2010.”

On Instagram, the actor-politician shared his sentiments about the issue. With a photo containing Romans 8:31, he captioned it with, “Pagkatapos ng Barangay Election sa May 14 susunod na naman ang filing ng mga kandidatong tatakbo sa Oct para sa local election sa May 2019 sa QC. Lord, ano naman po ang susunod nila?😊😊😊 Noone is more powerful than you Lord. Noone is above your Name!🙏🙏🙏

If you have yet to watch the Avengers: Infinity War, I recommend you to stop reading further.

Avengers: Infinity War reveals the story of our favorite Marvel superheroes inside the cinematic universe fighting against an other-worldly villain, Thanos. The said film became available in theaters in the Philippines on April 25.

At the end of the movie, Thanos retreated to a farmland which seemed oddly familiar to Filipino viewers. Thanos also watched the sun rising in the said Filipino tourist spot: the Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao.

What a way to end such a beautiful movie!

Deserving of their recognition, allow us to list down the names of the said Filipinos. In the movie’s IMDB page, two names have a prominent work in the Philippines’ presence in Avengers: Infinity War.

Ogie Diaz reacts to Suzette Doctolero’s “Bagani” rant

  • Suzette Doctolero was offended on how the fantasy series Bagani portrayed Dimples Romano’s Babaylan.
  • The Kapuso headwriter also asked the “Bagani” writer to stop disrespecting Philippine historical & cultural beliefs

After the viral Babaylan dance chant of Dimples Romana as Babaylan in “Bagani” went viral on Social Media, Suzette Doctolero didn’t mince words to express her dismay on her Facebook account.

Suzette noted that Babaylan could be an enchantress. A babaylan could have a power just like a male political leader. She also remarked that a Babaylan remains the highest duty and responsibility of a woman.

Suzette shared what kind of Babaylan is the highest one. She also wrote how a Babaylan does miracle.

“Ang pinakamataas na uri ng babaylan ay isang babaylang bungaitan. Ito ay pinaniniwalaang nakakagawa na ng mga mirakulo. May mga tala na nakakalakad sila sa tubig (this is before naging kristyabo o katoliko ang Pilipinas kaya hindi ito haka hakang inangkop mula sa bibliya).”

Suzette requested and hoped that people should be careful working around the Philippine culture.

“Pakiusap na maging maingat tayo sa pagsusulat lalo na at mula sa ating mayamang kultura. Utang na loob. Huwag nating gawing kalokohan lalo at maraming batang nanonood. Hindi ito katatawanan.”

The Kapuso writer’s reaction has reached Kapamilya comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz’s knowledge.

  • Maine Mendoza still wants to be an actress.
  • Rams David guaranteed that she probably felt that everything is a dream.
  • He continued about Maine’s possible future projects with or without Alden Richards.

Contrary to other people’s beliefs, Maine Mendoza is happy. Triple A Management president and Maine’s talent manager, Rams David, assured her fans that Maine remains happy in her job.

Rams also revealed that Maine never went past the process to become an actress then she suddenly blew up as a phenomenal star.

Rams shared that Maine had slowly understood the fame attached to being a part of the love team AlDub with Alden Richards.

“Unti-unti… Remember, hindi naman kasi siya yung batang nag-audition… I mean, hindi siya yung dumaan sa proseso.  After ng audition, dun mag-uumpisa. Kaya lang, after audition, just few weeks, sumabog, e.”

Rams continued that Maine felt like it has been a dream. He also added that maybe she’s in a fairytale, a dream come true.

“So, yung bata, parang, ‘Ano ba ‘to, is this a dream?’ Parang sa bata, ang sayang fairytale. It’s a dream come true. Parang natulog ka lang, paggising mo, you’re a star, you’re an artist.”

Rams states that Maine still wants to be in the industry. Fans had always demanded to remove Maine away from the heat during Juan for All All for Juan segments. However, Maine doesn’t want to leave the segment.

“Well, I asked her. Tinanong ko nga siya last week, ‘Gusto mo pa bang mag-artista?’ Oo, gusto niyang mag-artista. So, masaya siya. Gusto pa niya ang ginagawa niya. Makikita mo naman sa telebisyon. Even sa kalye, kahit na anong sabi ng mga fans na ‘tanggalin mo na ‘yan sa kalye,’ naiinitan, nasasaktan. Pero gustung-gusto ni Maine sa kalye. Kahit minsan pagod na pagod na siya ng the night before, sasabihin niya, ‘Ay, papasok po ako.’”

Rams also shared his uncertainty on the future of AlDub inside Eat Bulaga. Although fans see Maine and Alden in Pamilya Nunal, they would want them to star in a movie or television series.

“Unahin muna natin ang AlDub… we don’t know with Eat Bulaga! and their plans, but we still see them together sa Pamilya Nunal. Meron pa rin istorya na tumatakbo, so nandun pa rin yun… Yung AlDub movie hindi ko pa masagot bilang yung script niya e, hirap na hirap talaga kung ano ang babagay… Pinipili talaga kung ano ang best script. Yun, talagang nag-beg-off muna siya sa teleserye. Siguro if it’s the right project, lalo na ang drama, hindi muna sa drama. Parang hirap pa siya.”

Liza Diño defends Ice Seguerra from corruption claims written by Rappler

  • Liza Diño slammed corruption charges against husband, Ice Seguerra.
  • She shared that he doesn’t seem to be affected by the issue.
  • She demanded that Rappler should fact check and verify details they write about.

Liza Diño recently slammed corruption claims against her husband, Ice Seguerra. Commission on Audit (CoA) allegedly reported that National Youth Commission (NYC) with the amount of Php 268, 000.

The said money was apparently spent on snacks during unofficial meetings.

Ice became the chairperson of the National Youth Commission in 2017. He resigned in April 2018. In an interview with PEP.ph, Liza explained the process of submitting receipts and other paperwork needed in a government agency.

“May tinatawag na AOM, Audit Observation Memo, na ginagawa ng COA. Normally, nagko-crosscheck ang COA sa mga process na ginagawa. Ang each agency, may sariling process iyan. Of course, you want to go by the book, pero may iba’t ibang tao ‘yan. May kanya-kanyang process na not necessarily veering away from what is supposed to be submitted, pero baka hindi lang nila nako-compile nang maayos.”

Liza provided examples. She slammed people who circulated news about the said claims. She continued to demand fact checking. Liza also stated that it would be unfair to give half-truths and half stories and not getting the stories of both sides.

“For example, mga vouchers. Minsan, nagpapatung-patong yung ginagawa niyo. Kapag gumagawa ng Audit Observation Memo ang COA, sinasabi nila, unofficial ito kasi walang naka-attach na disbursement voucher. Ang gagawin sa amin, ipapa-reconcile namin ito sa Accounting [department] namin. So, hahanapin nila ang missing na paperwork. Last April 4, na-release na na-reconcile na ang lahat ng hinihingi ni COA. Yung mga naglalabas diyan ng balita, sana i-check niyo talaga sa NYC talaga kung tama talaga. Unfair because you’re just giving half-truths. You are just giving half stories. You’re not making sure that both sides are able to air it.”

Liza also noted that Ice had made the document of the CoA which indicated that the money was accounted for. People shouldn’t be too quick to judge.

“Nilabas niya yung COA observation na na-reconcile lahat, so sino ngayon ang napahiya? I’m just saying, let’s not be quick to judge. And for those who are doing that to malign or kung ano man ang intention niyo, be responsible.”

Liza shared Ice’s reaction to the issue. She also noted that the money can also cost one of Ice’s songs.

“Natawa siya… P234,000 on meals, my God, isang kanta lang yun ng asawa ko! Siya yung last person na iisipin niyong corrupt; abonado pa siya sa gobyerno noong nandun siya.”

Although Liza stressed that Ice was not affected by the said issue. She also couldn’t believe it that Ice’s former agency gets involved in the said issue.

“Hindi siya affected, pero nadadamay ang agency kasi, at that time, siya yung head. Talaga ba, si Ice pa ba ang iku-question natin pagdating sa integridad?”

Liza pointed out that Rappler should fact check and verify their details. She also pointed out the maliciousness of the article.

“Nakakatawa lang na nakakainis kasi may mga iresponsable na akala nila gagamiting bala, I don’t know for their own agenda. It’s so malicious the way it was written… I want to defend him because I know how he is. Kilala niyo ang asawa ko.”

Bruce Rivera hits Thinking Pinoy, sympathizes with OWWA’s Arnel Ignacio

  • DDS influencer Bruce Rivera slams fellow DDS influencer Thinking Pinoy.
  • Bruce Rivera recounted Arnel Ignacio’s ordeal in Kuwait.

Known DDS influencer Atty. Bruce Rivera is in fighting mood again after blasting fellow DDS influencer RJ Nieto of Thinking Pinoy.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Rivera while not dropping names castigated what he called “major major” for its social media gaffe which endangered the lives of Filipino workers in Kuwait.

“Before lumabas sa Saksi, umabot na sa Kuwait government ang video dahil pinakalat ng major-majors ang video. Pinakalat na hindi man lang hinintay na makauwi ang mga nirescue at hindi man lang naka-blur yung mukha at info sa video” he wrote.

Fellow DDS influencer RJ Nieto of Thinking Pinoy was the one who uploaded the DFA video showing the rescue efforts for abused OFWs in Kuwait.

But the video apparently reached the Kuwaiti government, leading to the summon of Philippine Ambassador Villa and lodge a diplomatic protest.

“Ang ending, kulong ang pobreng mga OFW na ang isa dun ay end of contract at pauwi na dapat kaya bakit kailangan irescue. Siguradong nagamit sila sa papogi ng mga hinayupak ng officials na ito…Promise, hindi ko talaga kayo titigilan. Promise.” Rivera added.

Meanwhile, Rivera sympathized with OWWA Deputy Administrator Arnel Ignacio because their efforts were wasted following the  DFA blunders.

According to Bruce, Ignacio was teary-eyed recounting what happened in Kuwait.

“Nakausap ko si kapatid na Arnell Arevalo Ignacio na Deputy Admin ng OWWA. Malungkot at naiiyak na nagbuhos ng sama ng loob sa akin” Rivera revealed.

According to him, Ignacio was in Kuwait to talk to the employers and fix the situation of OFW’s there. There could have been a great resolution but the rescue operation which was posted by Thinking Pinoy in social media ruined it all.

  • Two more draws for ‘Masaganang Pa-Thank You’ promo coming

Two families will soon be able to enjoy their own brand new homes after winning the ABS-CBN TVplus’ “Masaganang Pa-Thank You” promo.

Through an electronic raffle, the first digital terrestrial television service in the country has named Mario Miranda Jr. and Bryan Duque as the two new owners of house and lot units developed by Lumina Homes. Two more will be drawn in the coming months.

The “Masaganang Pa-Thank You” promo is how ABS-CBN TVplus shows its gratitude to Kapamilyas that have welcomed the ‘mahiwagang black box’ into their homes and for the more than four million boxes that have already been sold.

Miranda, the first winner, is an XLT jeepney driver with two children and hails from Talavera, Nueva Ecija. His family is grateful to TVplus for improving their bonding experience and says that family gatherings are not complete without pancit, softdrinks, and watching their favorite TV shows with their TVplus.

The second winner, Duque, is from Sta. Ana, Manila. He has two children and works as a cook at his brother’s restaurant. He considers himself blessed to have won the house and lot prize as his family has moved three times in two years, twice after a fire razed the house they were staying at. Rising from the second fire was more difficult as they had to stay at a barangay covered court after the incident. They recently moved again as the owner of the rooms they were renting had already reclaimed them.

Moving multiple times was a hard adjustment for the family, especially the children, but Duque is looking forward to the future. He said that at least now they have their own house from Lumina to go home to.

The next draw for ABS-CBN TVplus’ “Masaganang Pa-Thank You” promo will be on April 30, while the final draw will be on May 28. Join now to also get the chance to win a house and lot or a MyPhone myA8 DTV smartphone, or P4,000 gift certificates from Octagon or Boardwalk.

Join by texting JOIN(space)<TVplus BOX ID>/<name>/<address> to 2366.

Non-TVplus users still have a chance to register for the raffle by buying a TVplus and following the registration procedures.

ABS-CBN TVplus or more popularly known as the ‘mahiwagang black box,’ is a digital box that detects, receives, and broadcasts available digital signals on TV. It allows Filipino families watch richer and clearer picture and sound at home to enhance their family bonding and TV viewing experience.

  • The Importance of ‘Talent Management’ and why companies should invest in it
  • GenieTech offers Ramco, a comprehensive hire to retire HCM software designed to facilitate a changing work environment

Talent management is not just a simple human resource key term one will come across.  It is also committed to hire, manage, develop, and retain the most talented and excellent employees in the industry. In fact, talent management plays an important role in the business strategy since it manages one of the important assets of the company—its people.

That is why companies should make the effort to effectively manage the employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities in order to retain them. Here are some reasons why companies should invest in talent management.

1. Attract top talent

Having a strategic talent management gives organizations the opportunity to attract the most talented and skilled employees available. It creates an employer brand that could attract potential talents, and in turn, contributes to the improvement of the organizations’ business performance and results.

2. Employee motivation

Having a strategic talent management helps organizations keep their employees motivated which creates more reasons for them to stay in the company and do their tasks. In fact, 91 percent of employees shared that they wanted more than just money to feel engaged and motivated, as revealed by Chandler and Macleod’s survey.

3. Continuous coverage of critical roles

Talent management equips companies with the tasks that require critical skills to plan and address the important and highly specialized roles in the workforce to its employees. This means that the company will have a continuous flow of employees to fill critical roles to help companies run their operations smoothly and avoid extra workload for others, which could lead to exhaustion.

4. Increase employee performance

The use of talent management will make it easier for the companies to identify which employees will be best suited for the job that can lead to less performance management issues and grievances. It will also guarantee that the top talent within the company stays longer.

5. Engaged employees

Talent management allows companies to make systematic and consistent decisions about the development of staff, which guarantees the employees’ skills and development. Furthermore, employees will feel more engaged when there is a fair procedure for the development, which helps in increasing the retention rates that helps companies in meeting their operational requirements.

6. Retain top talent

Well-structured on-boarding practices create higher levels of retention which saves the company on its recruitment and performance management cost in the long run.

7. Improve business performance

Talent management helps employees feel engaged, skilled, and motivated, allowing them to work in the direction of the company’s business goals, which in turn, increases client satisfaction and business performance.

8. Higher client satisfaction

A systematic approach to talent management means that there is an organizational-integration and a consistent approach to management. When systems are more integrated, client satisfaction rates are usually higher, since they are dealing with fewer people and their needs are met more rapidly.

Investing in talent management surely is a great help for the company, now the question is, how will companies implement it? Genie Technologies Inc., (GenieTech) will be glad to help companies with their needs regarding talent management and other HCM features.

Sony expands “Full-frame Mirrorless” Line-up with New Sony α7 III

  • Sony expands “Full-frame Mirrorless” Line-up with New Sony α7 III
  • It has the latest Imaging Technologies all Compressed into a Compact Package

Today, Sony introduces yet another impressive addition to their full-frame mirrorless camera line-up, the α7 III.

Sony’s unmatched innovation within the image sensor space is at the forefront of the new α7 III, as it features a brand new 24.2MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor with increased sensitivity, outstanding resolution and an impressive 15 stops of dynamic range at low sensitivities.

By combining this sensor with a variety of impressive features including extreme AF coverage of 93%, fast shooting at up to 10 fps with either mechanical shutter or silent shooting, diverse 4K video capabilities and more, Sony has created a new tool that gives all types of creators – from enthusiast to professional – the ability to capture content in new and diverse ways than they ever have before.

Spectacular Full-frame Image Quality

The newly developed 24.2MP1 back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor is paired with a front-end LSI that effectively doubles the readout speed of the image sensor, as well as an updated BIONZ X™ processing-engine that boosts processing speed by approximately 1.8 times compared to the α7 II. These powerful components work together to allow the camera to shoot at faster speeds while also enabling its impressive ISO range of 100 – 51200 (expandable to ISO 50 – 204800 for still images) and an overall 1.5-stop improvement in image quality. The camera also features a massive 15-stop2 dynamic range at low sensitivity settings, ensuring outstanding overall performance at all settings and in all shooting conditions, with significant advancements in accurate color reproductions of skin tones and the vibrant colors of nature.

This new full-frame model can also output 14 bit RAW format even in silent and continuous shooting modes, and is equipped with a 5-axis optical image stabilization system that results in a 5.0 step5 shutter speed advantage.

Significant Advances in AF Speed and Performance

The innovative new α7 III full-frame mirrorless camera features a level of AF performance that has been largely improved over the α7 II, including the addition of 4D FOCUS™ capabilities. The new camera has 425 contrast AF points that work with a 693-point focal-plane phase-detection AF system inherited from the acclaimed α9 model. This innovative AF system covers approximately 93% of the frame, ensuring reliable focusing and tracking for even the most difficult to capture subjects.

AF response and tracking has also been greatly improved in the new camera, with almost 2x9 the focusing speed in low-light condition and 2x2 the tracking speed compared to the previous model as a result of the faster image sensor readout. This allows complex and unpredictable motion to be captured with far greater precision and accuracy.

The acclaimed Eye AF feature is also available in the new camera, even in AF-C mode, which is extremely useful for situations where the subject is turning around, looking down or otherwise obstructed. It also works when the α7 III is being used with Sony’s A-mount lenses with an optional LA-EA3 adaptor. Additional improvements in focusing flexibility include the addition of a multi-selector or ‘joystick’ for moving focusing points quickly, the addition of touch focusing capability, AF availability in Focus Magnifier mode, an ‘AF On’ button and much more.

Speed to Capture Every Decisive Moment

The new α7 III is equipped with an updated image processing system that allows it to shoot full resolution images at up to 10 fps3 with continuous, accurate AF/AE tracking for up to 177 Standard JPEG images, 89 compressed RAW images or 40 uncompressed RAW images. This high-speed mode is available with either a mechanical shutter or a completely silent shooting4, adding to the immense flexibility of the camera. The camera can also shoot continuously at up to 8 fps3 in live view mode with minimal lag in the viewfinder or LCD screen.

For added convenience, while large groups of burst images are being written to the memory card, many of the cameras key functions are operable, including access to the ‘Fn’ (Function) and ‘Menu’ buttons, image playback and several other menus and parameters including image rating and other functions that facilitate on-location image sorting.

Additionally, if there is fluorescent or artificial lighting present in a shooting environment, users can activate the Anti-flicker function to allow the α7 III to automatically detect frequency of the lighting and time the shutter to minimize its effect on images being captured. This minimizes any exposure or color anomalies that can sometimes occur at the top and bottom of images shot at high shutter speeds.

High Quality 4K Video

The new α7 III is an outstanding video camera as well, offering 4K (3840×2160 pixels) video recording across the full width of the full-frame image sensor. In video mode, the camera uses full pixel readout without pixel binning to collect about 2.4x the amount of data required for 4K movies, and then oversamples it to produce high quality 4K footage with exceptional detail and depth.

An HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile is available on the α7 III as well, which supports an Instant HDR workflow, allowing HDR (HLG) compatible TV’s to playback beautiful, true-to-life 4K HDR imagery. Further, both S-Log2 and S-Log3 are available for increased colour grading flexibility, as well as Zebra functionality, Gamma Display assist and proxy recording. The camera can also record Full HD at 120 fps at up to 100 Mbps6, allowing footage to be reviewed and eventually edited into 4x or 5x slow motion video files in Full HD resolution with AF tracking.

Upgraded Build, Design and Customization

Sony’s newest full-frame camera is equipped with a variety of enhanced capabilities that were first implemented in the α9 and then again in the α7R III. These include dual media slots, with support in one slot for UHS-II type SD memory cards. Users have a variety of options for storing their content in each of the cards, including separate JPEG / RAW recording, separate still image / movie recording, relay recording and more. Battery life has been greatly extended as well – with a CIPA measurement of up to 710 shots per charge, it offers the world’s longest battery life of any Mirrorless camera, as the new camera utilizes Sony’s Z series battery NP-FZ100 that offers approximately 2.2 times the capacity of the W series battery NP-FW50 utilized in the α7 II.

The new camera features “My Menu” functionality which allows up to 30 menu items to be registered for instant recall when needed. Users can also apply star ratings to their still images through the camera controls for easier image playback and review, and edit the first three characters of all still image files. Additionally, there is a total of 81 functions that are assignable to 11 custom buttons, and the camera is both dust and moisture resistant.

The α7 III features high-resolution, high-contrast, fast-start XGA OLED Tru-Finder™ with approximately 2.3 million dots for extremely accurate, true-to-life detail reproduction. “Standard” or “High” display quality settings are also available for both the viewfinder and monitor as well. It also is capable of seamlessly transferring files to a smartphone, tablet, computer or FTP server via Wi-Fi®, while also offering a SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.1 Gen 1) USB Type-C™ Terminal for increased flexibility in power supply and faster image transfer speed during tethered shooting.

The α7 III model also comes with Sony’s new software suite “Imaging Edge”, which extends the creative capabilities of the entire shooting process – from pre-processing to post-processing. “Imaging Edge” provides three PC applications called ‘Remote’, ‘Viewer’ and ‘Edit’, available for free download, which support live-view PC remote shooting and RAW development. In the latest Version 1.1, several improvements have been implemented including about 10% faster data transfer speed for remote shooting from PC (PC tether shooting) and approximately 65% improvement in the response speed for RAW image editing. For more information, please visit Imaging Edge support page. www.sony.net/disoft/d.

The camera is also compatible with a wide variety of Sony E-mount accessories including the BC-QZ1 Battery ChargerVG-C3EM Vertical Grip.

Pricing and Availability

The ILCE-7M3K priced at Php 129,999 (net cash) and the ILCE-7M3 priced at Php 115,999 (net cash) will be available beginning April 27, 2018 in all Sony Centers and Sony Authorized Dealers nationwide.
