- For someone like Maine Mendoza who was born with a silver spoon, showbiz isn’t exactly her bread and butter.
- The industry only served as her venue to express herself but as luck would have it, she was team up with actor Alden Richards for Kalyeserye and the rest is history.
- There have been talks that Maine will bid showbiz goodbye because she was reportedly been so disappointed with fans especially on social media.
Maine had recently owned a franchise of the international fast food chain she’s been endorsing. A lot of people say that Maine would want to focus more on the franchise business rather than in her showbiz career.

Maine Mendoza might leave showbiz anytime soon now.
For one, showbiz isn’t her main source of income. She comes from a well-off family and unlike other celebrities who rely on showbiz for their income, she can very much afford to live a luxurious life.
It’s been exactly a year since she became an instant celebrity on the boobtube via “Eat Bulaga!” Dabarkads and Kalyeserye. Despite the legions of fans across the world, Maine, it seems is not getting used to the industry after all. She recently deactivated her Twitter account because she says she’s disappointed with the fans.
It will be recalled that among Maine’s last tweets before she deactivated her Twitter were the words:
“When peace and love are no longer being served; and whenever you find yourself taking in so much negativity, you have to take a break and reflect.”
“Sometimes we need to disconnect to reconnect. Taking a break is necessary to save yourself and others from drowning.”
“I hope we all stop pulling each other down.”
Since she has acquired a franchise of the fast food chain she’s been endorsing, there have been talks that she’d rather focus on the business rather than her showbiz career.
Maine also once said in her previous interviews that she doesn’t see herself active in showbiz for the next 20 years. She yearns for anonymity. She misses those times when she’s not yet a celebrity. “Honestly, feeling ko hinahanap ko rin yung normal na buhay. ‘Yung buhay ko before—tahimik lang, hindi napapansin ng tao,” said Maine in a previous interview.
If her love team partner, Alden Richards owns a fine dining restaurant in Tagaytay and Quezon City, Maine has a franchise of a fast food chain in Bulacan. Her fast food chain is just a stone’s throw away from her family’s gasoline station business.
If this issue were true, then Maine’s fans and the AlDub nation might really have something to be sad about. But maybe, Maine can still change her mind about it. One thing’s sure, Maine has been contemplating on leaving showbiz for good.
