Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo will share the inspiring stories of four people whose dreams came true because of a popular Facebook page in this Saturday’s (January 30) episode of ABS-CBN’s “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan.”

The episode will highlight the inspiring journey of writers Ben Totanes, Joyce Pief, Charina Echaluce, and painter Gini Aala, who were able to help their families and share their work with the help of Definitely Filipino, a Facebook page dedicated to covering Filipino issues and followed by 4.6 million people.

Ben, the founder of Definitely Filipino, created the page when he felt homesick while living abroad so that he could share heartfelt stories with other kababayans.

The episode will also share the story of Gini, a painter whose viral Definitely Filipino article helped her earn enough money to pay for her sick mother’s hospital bills.

Thanks to the online page, Joyce, who had been forced to close down her small business, was able to relive her love for writing when she joined the page as a writer-editor.

Joyce’s job was also where she met Charina, an aspiring author who had to prove to her parents that she could survive in the industry and later on joined Definitely Filipino as a writer and released a best-selling novel.

Watch their real-life stories of hope and compassion in Juday’s “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan” every Saturday at 7 PM on A2Z channel on free TV and via digital TV boxes like ABS-CBN TVplus. To many showbiz fans, Mommy Divine is a strict mother and manager to her daughter’s professional and love life.

After the controversial wedding of the Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo to singer-actor Matteo Guidecelli, life has to move on for Mommy Divine.

However, Sarah has settled on a choice and remained steadfast when she finally chose to tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Matteo.

What has intended to be a calm, solemn and intimate occasion turned dramatic when Sarah’s mother (who seemingly didn’t know about the wedding), unexpectedly turned up and an alleged commotion took place.

Sarah, 31 and Matteo, 29, are now married through a civil wedding that privately took place at Shangri-La at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City late evening of Thursday, February 20, 2020.

After almost a year now, how is Mommy Divine Geronimo’s life?

Sarah’s mom is back and busy doing business right now.

The Geronimo’s Cafe and Restaurant has recently proceeded with its operation in their physical store situated on Mindanao Avenue. It has also resumed its operation in its delivery service.

In addition to her love of baking and cooking, Mommy Divine also deals with her garden where all the organic ingredients utilized in the restaurant came from.

Considering the pandemic, it is also said that they are chipping away on strengthening the presence of their business online.

Meanwhile, as of the writing, there is still no update on the reconciliation between Mommy Divine and the celebrity couple.

Amid the controversial wedding that has unfolded and considering his relationship with his in-laws, Matteo is still hoping that one day he will have a good relationship with Sarah’s family.

Though it may not be possible for the time being, he is as yet trusting that in God’s time the conflict between him and Mommy Divine will come to an end and that things will heal and be better in the coming days.

Like any other in-laws, having a healthy in-law relationship[s] is a wonderful blessing to any marriage.

Shadow and Bone is coming on April 23

Based on Leigh Bardugo’s worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels, Shadow and Bone finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free.

With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems.

There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.

Shadow and Bone is a Netflix production from 21 Laps Entertainment, starring Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), and Ben Barnes (General Kirigan).

Eric Heisserer (Showrunner/EP) and Leigh Bardugo (Author/EP) on these first look images and what fans can expect from this new series:

LEIGH BARDUGO: Shadow and Bone takes place in a very different kind of fantasy world. Think Imperial Russia, not Medieval England, repeating rifles instead of broadswords. It’s a story about the people who have been told how much they don’t matter proving how much they do. And it’s been incredible to see that story take shape on such an epic scale, the battles, the magic, but also the relationships between the characters. These photos give just a tiny hint at what’s in store—a mapmaker with an extraordinary gift, the people who want to use her, the tracker who will do anything to protect her, and the team of thugs and thieves who are about to cause some very big trouble for everyone involved.

ERIC HEISSERER: These photos offer a glimpse into the expansive, textured world Leigh created in her books. We worked tirelessly to craft a lived-in feel for fictional lands like Ketterdam and Ravka, with invented languages, uniforms, currency, and artistic choices from set design to costuming. You’re immersed in the Grishaverse when you read, and it’s our hope that both new and existing fans have that same feeling when they watch the show. The series has an incredibly passionate fanbase and we can’t wait for new people to discover the magic that is Shadow and Bone.

Bossing Vic Sotto: Why Real Estate Properties are Good Investments

Quezon City, Metro Manila—January 2020— Every story of a persevering Filipino, especially an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is inspiring. As modern-day heroes, they chose to go abroad, far from home, seize opportunities, reach their dreams and aspirations, and provide for their families through their hard-earned money.

However, due to the pandemic, their savings might be spent on more immediate needs, especially since the current situation put the country’s economy into recession. That is why financial experts say that OFWs should consider putting their extra income into long-term investments, like real estate properties.

Take it from Bossing Vic Sotto, who has seen the importance and advantages of having property investments that he considers safe and a good source of passive income, especially for OFWs considering retirement.

“Investing in property is one investment that OFWs won’t regret, as long as they carefully plan ahead to make it successful. When you have done it right, you will reap the fruits of your labor,” Bossing said.

If you are an OFW, Bossing wants to show you why investing in properties can be the long-term investment plan for you.

Properties have a predictable cash flow. One of the benefits of real estate investments is its ability to provide you greater cash flow. Over time, the more you have paid off mortgage payments and operating expenses, the more your net income from the investment increases.

Properties can increase your assets. As you pay down your property mortgage, you build an equity–an asset that is part of your net worth. By growing your equity, you can leverage it to buy more properties, as well as to increase your cash flow and wealth even more.

Properties appreciate in value. Real estate’s value increases over time, especially when you invest and take care of it properly. For instance, a 1,000sqm property in a Quezon City subdivision was worth 150,000 pesos during the 1970’s. Now it is easily worth 150 Million Pesos.

Improving the property’s state can grow its worth. Since properties are made of tangible materials, you can change their entire look when needed. Whether you are designing to repair flaws or improve its cosmetics, changing its design will make it more valuable than its previous state.

Properties is a perfect retirement plan. The value and the cash flow of properties increases over time. So, the longer you invest in real estate, the more you can earn in the long run. It makes itself the perfect retirement plan for anyone who wants to continue earning even after retirement.

For OFWs, another option is to turn it into a condotel, which could generate easy passive income. And since the Philippines is an attractive tourist destination attracting visitors every year, it adds to the advantage for Filipino investors. Investing in condotels near tourist spots will grow your chances of success when the economy starts to recover.

Bossing also believes in preventing yourself from making common investment mistakes like choosing the wrong location or asset. Looking for reliable real estate developers will help you lay down your property investment roadmap to success.

For instance, CitiGlobal Realty and Development Inc., a top real estate developer, which according to Bossing, is helpful as it offers affordable and income-generating properties in the country, provides high demand and affordable properties for investors.

The company envisions becoming a top real estate developer in the country, effortlessly putting the Philippines’s best tourism locations on the map through their real estate properties like Tagaytay Fontaine Villas, Tagaytay Clifton Resort Suites in Tagaytay, and Diamond Beach Resorts in Palawan, and other upcoming projects dedicated world-class real estate developments showing the beauty of the locations. And provide investment opportunities for OFWs to have back in the country and be with their families.

To learn more about CitiGlobal, visit its website at https://citiglobal.com.ph/ or send them an e-mail at info@citiglobal.com.ph for inquiries. If you have properties to offer, you may reach them via Viber (0949-889-3252)

In 2005, Martin made his debut movie with an independent film Masahista as Illiac. The film is co-story and directed by Brillante Mendoza. It essayed the life of a young masseur for gay men in Manila and had a relationship, too.

The Brillante Mendoza-directed film won Martin’s accolades as an actor, but not without doing justice to his role as the titular masseur-which meant that he had thrown his clothes on the screen.

He even shared in an interview that he has doubts to strip bare for the camera, but he did it, anyway.

“Dumating na ‘yong time na mayroong pinakamalalang eksena, ‘yong kailangan kong maghubad ng brief. Sabi ko, ‘Kaya ko ba ‘to?’ Syempre ang daming tao sa set. Akala mo ‘pag pinanood mo sa pelikula, kayo lang ng camera.”

4. Royce Cabrera.

Cabrera was the winner for Mr. Mapua Cardinals Search. He was introduced via the film, Baklad the same year (2017), an official entry to the ToFarm Film Festival

His torrid kissing scene with 52-year-old actress, Yayo Aguila in the controversial 2019 Cinemalaya film entry, F#*@bois.

In the said film, he also bared himself in the nude via his bed scene with veteran actor-director Ricky Davao and Kokoy de Santos.

3. Tetchie Agbayani.

Veteran actress Tetchie Agbayani also had her share of doing frontal nudity in cameras.

The 1979 Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism titleholder before she pursued her career in Hollywood, sometimes credited as Carol Roberts. Her films include John Boorman‘s The Emerald Forest (1985), a cameo in The Money Pit (1986), a leading lady in Gymkata (1985), and as a geologist in the Australian film Rikky and Pete (1988).

Agbayani also appeared in an episode of the British television series Yellowthread Street.

Her appearance in a regular issue of German Playboy and a special American edition titled, Women of the World created quite a stir, but made her the first Filipina to pose for that publication.

But in 2018, during a press conference, she admitted that she got traumatized after modeling for the 1982 Playboy Magazine.

“Na-trauma ako dun Kasi, ahh… yung nakikita nilang ‘yon, yung nasa picture, it’s a persona. Like, in Playboy, you have to be attractive. And when they asked me to do that work, I wanted to stress the beautiful shape of a woman. After I leave that job, I revive my being me.”

He also received a nomination from the Gawad Urian as Best Actor for Hostage: Hanapin si Batuigas (1977).

His older brother is former Philippine President and former Manila Mayor, Joseph Estrada.

Estregan died when he was 49 years old after an eight-month battle with bone cancer.

1. Rosanna Roces.

Roces, is one of the hottest actresses in the early 1990s. She was a contract star of Seiko movies from 1994 to 1996, originally introduced as Ana Maceda.

She was dubbed as the Sex Goddess of Philippine Cinema.

In a recent interview, she revealed that there was a point in her career that people looked down on her because of her previous movies.

The actress said that it was difficult for her to have serious drama films or shows because people would judge her as a sexy actress based on her previous films.

“Pinakamahirap na stigma sa showbiz ay ‘yung nasa loob na rin ng showbiz (nagmula). Parang sinasabing, ‘ay wala namang alam gawin ‘yan kundi maghubad.’ So naging mahirap para sa akin sa pagtawid (drama roles) lalo na pag awards night, magaling ka naman pero hindi ka pananalunin kasi sexy star ka lang.”

After her years with Seiko, she starred in Reyna Films via a critically-acclaimed film Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin (1997), which finally paved the way for her transition to serious acting.

Today, she is starring in an upcoming film Paglaki Ko, Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar, under Viva Films and VinCentiments.

Smaller scar, faster recovery period, and other things you should know about minimally invasive surgery

MANILA, Philippines— Long gone are the days when surgeries automatically mean surgeons cutting huge swathes of skin to open a patient’s body and look for the part that needs surgery. Science and technology has enabled the emergence of a revolutionary surgical procedure that boasts of shorter recovery time for patients in the form of minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

Hospitals and medical practitioners in the country have long been practicing this type of surgery and in an effort to further educate the public about the advantages of MIS, Cardinal Santos Medical Center held its first ever webicon (a hybrid of a webinar and a press conference) last January 27, 2021, entitled, Why Less Is More: 10 Things To Know About Minimally Invasive Surgery.

The virtual event’s roster of speakers included Dr. Alfred Allen Buenafe, Executive Director of Cardinal Santos’ Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery—the pioneer MIS training center in the Philippines, Dr. Zenaida Javier-Uy, Chief Medical Officer, and Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao, Senior Consultant and General & Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore.

During his talk, Dr. Buenafe highlighted the main advantages of laparoscopic surgery, a type of minimally invasive surgery that allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen and pelvis without making large incisions on the skin.

“Laparoscopy can be used to help diagnose a wide range of conditions that develop inside the abdomen or pelvis, through direct visualization of the affected organs,” he says. “It can also be used to carry out surgical procedures like removing a diseased organ like the gallbladder, or for collecting tissue samples for testing or biopsy.”

Less is better. Dr. Alfred Allen Buenafe, Executive Director of Cardinal Santos Medical Center’s Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery, explains the technological advancement behind minimally invasive surgery which results to less scarring and faster recovery period for patients.

To add to his point, Dr. Rao elaborated on the benefits of MIS for patients.

“When we started doing minimal access surgery, the results were not only similar to large incision surgery, but they were even better,” Dr. Rao explains. “Patients recovered much better and they could get back into society doing their normal activity. And they even have low recurrence rate. Now we know that when we have these minimal access surgeries, there’s minimal disturbance in a patient’s physiology, and therefore, the amount of stress to the human body is much lower and therefore the recovery is much faster.”

Patient testimonies

Patients who underwent minimally invasive surgeries also shared their experience during the webicon.

Dr. Steve Costello, a patient of Dr. Buenafe, was operated on in 2017 for his hernia.

“I must admit that as much as I’d come to believe Dr. Buenafe, I wasn’t totally convinced when he told me I could get back to my previous good health and lifestyle almost immediately,” Dr. Costello shares. “But healing was smooth as silk and I quickly returned to a life I had not enjoyed in years. My work, my play, and my self-confidence all returned, and it was easy to be happy again!”

Isis Huang, a young urban professional, also underwent surgery after what she thought was a simple acid reflux turned out to be a cyst in her ovaries.

“I truly thank God for a successful surgery—they were able to take out the cyst the size of a California orange,” says Huang. “The MIS procedure helped me to have a faster recovery process. After I was discharged, I was advised to stay home for two weeks but all I needed was just one week. I went back to my OB-gyne and my wound was dry and healed.”

The panelists of Why Less Is More: 10 Things To Know About Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Ultimately, the greatest evolution in the medical industry translates to the patients’ post-operative experience—an innovation that Cardinal Santos is hoping will become more accessible for the Filipinos.

“The Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery Training Center of Cardinal Santos Medical Center is the first of its kind in the Philippines. It was established to provide access to world-class training while promoting the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to our junior consultants and nurses in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific,” says Dr. Buenafe. “Through this advocacy, our ultimate goal is to elevate the standard of healthcare especially for the Filipino patient.”

Fresh team-up of Meg Imperial and Arvic Tan in ‘Sana All’

Viva Films, in cooperation with BluArt Production, presents the fresh team-up of Meg Imperial and Arvic Tan in “Sana All”, a movie that features Adams, one of the scenic gems of Ilocos Norte, and its exotic and intoxicating rice wine, the tapuey.

Meg Imperial plays Iyam, granddaughter of Lola Ingga (Lita Loresca), a renowned tapuey maker in the town of Adams. Iyam is about to take over their tapuey business, but the wine that she makes doesn’t meet her grandma’s standard. Lola Ingga points out that it lacks an important ingredient, and that’s passion.

Lola Ingga knows that Iyam is capable of producing sweet tapuey because she had done so in the past. Lola Ingga and her grandson Timo (Pio Balbuena), Iyam’s cousin, are convinced that Iyam will regain her passion for tapuey-making if she falls in love. But Iyam will not hear of it.

Arvic Tan plays Syd, a guy from Manila who, together with his friend Joan (Andrew Muhlach), is on a quest for the sweetest tapuey. His search leads him to Adams where he meets Iyam for the second time. Syd, Joan, Iyam and Timo have already crossed paths while on a short visit to La Union.

Syd’s presence undeniably brings spark to Iyam’s life, to the delight of Lola Ingga and Timo. But just as Iyam has started to take a risk in love, she discovers that Syd has other motives for trying to win her heart.

“Sana All” is directed by Bona Fajardo whose previous movies, such as “My Bakit List” (2019), “Hanggang Kailan” (2019), “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” (2018), and “I Found My Heart in Santa Fe” (2017), also highlighted picturesque locations, both local and international.

Being able to explore Adams and learning about people’s culture in the North were the top reasons why Meg was excited to take the lead role. It’s also an opportunity to work with Arvic after so many years. In 2011, they both starred in “Bagets: Just Got Lucky”, a series that aired on TV5. In 2013, Arvic was also part of Meg’s launching movie, “Menor de Edad”.

Meg’s performance in that movie earned her a nomination for New Movie Actress of the Year at the Star Awards for Movies. Three years later, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the FAMAS Awards for the movie “Higanti”.

This time, it is Arvic who is being launched as a leading man. He has worked opposite Bela Padilla in “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” and Nadine Lustre in “Indak”.

“Sana All” opens in cinemas on February 5, 2021 and soon on Vivamax.

Ion Perez said that he feels pressured with his upcoming film “Kaka” where he will be the lead actor. He is set to star with Sunshine Guimary which will also be the launching film of the sexy star.

Ion Perez is a model-turned TV host in the noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’ He was previously an escort in the show’s segment called ‘Miss Q&A.’ He is currently in a relationship with Vice Ganda who is one of the show’s mainstays.

During the movie’s zoom conference, Ion mentioned that his role in his upcoming film will be very different from his personality in ‘It’s Showtime.’

“Alam niyo naman po kung ano ang character ko sa ‘Showtime.”

“Nakaka-pressure para sa akin ang role ko dito sa ‘Kaka.’ Unang pelikula na ako ang leading man. Hindi biro ito,” he said.

‘Kaka’ is a sex-comedy film that will be directed by director GB San Pedro. The film is set to start its shooting the following month.

When asked if he’s willing to do love scenes with his co-star, Ion said that he will do everything that he can to commit to the role.

“‘Yan po ang aabangan ng mga tao,” he said.

“Kung ano po ang dapat na gawin, talagang susubukan kong gawing mabuti,” he added.

Even though the shooting will take place next month, Ion admitted that he can already feel the pressure for the role. He said that he always studies the script and his role.

“Inaaral ko ang script, lagi kong binabasa. Kung paano gumalaw ang isang anak mayaman. Alam ko mahirap dahil first time kong gagawin ang role,” said Ion.

“Laki ako sa hirap. Nahihirapan ako kung paano kumilos ang isang anak mayaman. Hihingi na lang siguro ako ng tips sa mga kaibigan ko kung ano ang dapat kong gawin,” he added.

The 30-year old host also said that his partner, Vice Ganda, is supportive of his venture.

“Humihingi ako ng tips sa kanya.”

“Alam naman po natin si Meme. Pagdating sa ganyan, professional naman ‘siya. Sinuportahan naman ako. Walang problema sa kanya,” he explained.

“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Kaya mo ‘yan. Tataya ako sa ‘yo. May tiwala ako sa ‘yo.’ So aaralin ko talaga si Levi,” he added.

Additionally, Ion said that he feels a bit shy with his kissing scene with his leading lady, but will just do his best because the scene is a part of his role.

“Ako naiilang sa kissing scene.”

“Pero kung talagang kailangan, bahala na si Superman,” he said.

At the end of the Lark Your Way to Success webinar series last year, Joyce Yu, President and CEO of True Blends Tea & Coffee, was announced as one of two winners of a business mentorship under Lark. Get to know more about the brand, the woman behind it, and how a cafeteria coffee cart in Katipunan turned into a nationwide franchise.

The Early Years

With no formal background in entrepreneurship, Joyce Yu was able to launch a small cafe of her own, and grow it into a successful multi-branch business over the course of 12 years. Joyce worked as a medical technologist prior to starting True Blends with her brother and husband in 2009. Their first branch was a cozy cafe located in the Ateneo de Manila High School cafeteria, which served hot and cold coffee-based drinks, pastries, and desserts.

Known back then as True Brew, the cafe quickly gained popularity among the Ateneo students, faculty, and parents. They would come for the food and drinks, relaxing ambiance, and personalized service. The company soon expanded with branches in key cities around the country. At present, you can find True Blends Tea & Coffee shops in Manila, Makati, Cavite, Nueva Ecija, Cebu, and Cotabato.

Delicious Food and Must-Try Drinks

One of the must-order menu items at True Blends is their Chicken Chops, a consistent favorite among their customers. But what truly sets this cafe apart from their competitors is their milk tea. Joyce, who studied tea brewing in Taiwan, makes sure to use freshly brewed tea from carefully selected suppliers to create this delicious beverage. The whole family can enjoy True Blends’ milk tea, which is safe even for children to consume. Among the cafe’s latest offerings are their new Milk Tea by the Gallon, priced at P600, and new 1-Liter Iced Tea sold at P150.

A Successful Business By An Accomplished Entrepreneur

Along with growing the company, Joyce also made an effort to expand her business knowledge, and establish the right connections over the years. She became a member, and served as former president of the Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI), and is a Go-Negosyo and DTI mentor. In 2019, she became one of the finalists for Franchise Business of the Year at the Asia Business Awards.

Looking towards the future, Joyce has started exploring digitization for True Blends in order to keep up with the evolving landscape of business. By employing solutions such as Lark, she is able to equip her company to adapt well to digital change. Apart from holding meetings with her franchisees, and connecting with fellow members of AFFI over Lark, Joyce has also started looking into using the platform as a tool for inventory management, in the hopes of streamlining this process for her business.

Joyce, who is admittedly not a very tech-savvy person, finds that Lark is easy to use. She shares, “Whenever I’m gonna have franchise inquiry meeting, I would just schedule it in the calendar and then there would be a link for our conference call. It saves time for me because I don’t need to open another app to make a meeting link and then open another app to make a schedule. It is really an all-in-one app and super user-friendly.”

For anyone who is interested in putting up their own business, True Blends Tea & Coffee offers an affordable P365,000 franchise package, complete with strategic marketing support. This standard franchise fee is an offer to businesses that were affected by the pandemic, as a means to help fellow Filipino entrepreneurs bounce back. An advantage of choosing True Blends is that it is a sustainable business, not simply a fad, with a feasible and attainable return on investment.

Ritt Momney’s ‘Put Your Records On,’ now a hit in the Philippines!

Ritt Momney’s rework of Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On” is now a certified smash in the Philippines. The sleeper hit that catapulted the 21-year-old producer and singer-songwriter into global fame, has now reached a top 10 peak on Spotify Philippines’ Top 50 this week, and continues to impact mainstream radio stations such as Monster RX 93.1 (No. 8), 99.5 Play FM (No. 8), and more.

Jack Rutter, the man behind the Salt Lake City-based music project, is amazed by the attention that his take on the 2006 classic is receiving. “I didn’t expect the cover to be anything more than a fun little release in between albums,” he shares in a statement. “I was super surprised to see it taking off on TikTok. It’s been the coolest thing ever to see people from other countries enjoying it.”

The hip-hop-flavored, electro pop tune initially gained significant traction via online video platform, TikTok before it blew up on several music markets worldwide, including a top 10 placement on Australia and New Zealand’s official charts, and a No. 1 peak on Spotify US and Global Viral 50 charts late last year.

Released a few weeks ago, its music video finds Jack Rutter “imagining himself as a future pop star stuck in a psychedelic dreamscape.”

Ritt Momney’s version stays truthful to the pop sensibility of Corinne Bailey Rae’s hit record, but his trademark lo-fi production somehow gives the track a fresh, contemporary spin. “I really didn’t change much, and I think it’s really important to remember that what makes it good is the songwriting that Corinne and her co-writers did on the track,” says the multi-talented crossover act. “I may have modernized it a bit, but I hope people don’t give me too much credit for that.”

Corinne Bailey Rae, the original artist behind the soulful track, gave Ritt Momney her blessing in an intimate Zoom chat sometime last year. Like Ritt Momney, her original version became a huge hit when it first came out, peaking at No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart, and becoming a staple in several singing shows across the globe.

Ritt Momney’s “Put Your Records On” is now available on all streaming platforms worldwide via Disruptor Records, Columbia Records, and Sony Music.

Kapamilya star Joshua Garcia revealed that there was a time in his career in which he felt that he became boastful.

The 23-year-old actor made the revelation in a Youtube vlog of his fellow Kapamilya artist, Enchong Dee.

The said Youtube video premiered last January 22, in which Joshua and Enchong talked about their work, finances, and life in general.

In the video, Enchong asked Joshua if he ever felt that he became boastful at the height of his love team with Julia Barretto.

“Feeling mo yumabang ka?” Enchong asked.

Joshua admitted that his fame went over his said saying, “May dumating na point na yumabang ako.”

“’Yun ‘yung time na parang feeling ko, hindi ako ‘yun,” he continued.

Enchong also admitted that he felt like he was able to witness that certain point in Joshua’s career. He explained that the young actor would act differently compared to how he first started in the showbiz industry.

“I feel like nakita ko ‘yung part na ‘yun. Weirdong weirdo kami kay Joshua Garcia. Kasi nakita ko siya sa ‘PBB.’ Tapos nakita ko ‘yung difference nung kasagsagan ng love team niyo ni Julia. Dumadating sa rehearsal, naka-shades, ‘yung parang John Lloyd Cruz,” said Enchong.

Joshua rose to fame in 2016 with his critically acclaimed performance in the top-grosser Vince and Kath and James and in the primetime series The Good Son. His acting skills gained recognition from the netizens in which they tagged him as the ‘next John Lloyd Cruz.’

Joshua explained himself saying that he did feel that he became overconfident with his fame but not to the point that he would compare himself to John Lloyd. He said that the change in his attitude was brought about by the relationship he had at the time.

“May time na yumabang ako pero hindi ko naman inisip na parang next John Lloyd. Hindi ko alam, kasi every time nagkakaroon ako ng relationship, nag-iiba talaga ako,” he said.

Enchong further explained that he is happy that Joshua was able to realize that he is becoming a bit boastful and was able to adjust himself.

“Hindi kasi natin mararamdaman na yumabang talaga tayo. It’s always other people that will see it and will feel it. Because I see you now, mas ikaw ito. Mas relax ka. ‘Yung natural and very light Joshua,” said Enchong.

“But I am happy that you know that it happened to you and you know that you need to adjust,” he added.

Aside from ‘The Good Son’, Joshua Garcia also starred in several hit Kapamilya series such as The Greatest Love (2016), Ngayon at Kailanman (2018), and The Killer Bride (2019).

He also starred in different films with his former onscreen partner and girlfriend, Julia Barretto, like Love You to the Stars and Back (2017), I Love You, Hater (2018), and Block Z (2020).

Alex Diaz reacts to Dacera case findings; chides gov’t for pushing false narratives

With the recent findings in the autopsy report on flight attendant Christine Dacera, actor Alex Diaz criticized people in the government for pushing false narratives throughout the case.

He retweeted the news report about police findings noting that Dacera died of natural causes. Diaz then wrote that Dacera’s autopsy report sends a serious message to people in the government who twist stories to push false narratives.

He also urged the public to condemn kinds of actions and those people behind them.

January 27, 2021, the Philippine National Police submitted findings from their medicolegal report to the Makati Prosecutor’s office stating that Dacera died of natural causes, effectively ruling out the possibility of rape or drug use in her death.

Despite the PNP’s findings, Dacera’s family remained unconvinced with the medicolegal report and still insisted on foul play.

Others also chimed in with the news that Dacera died of natural causes.

Firstly, John Lapus felt relieved now that the PNP confirmed that Dacera died of natural causes. He also sent his condolences to Dacera’s family.

Journalists also pointed out additional details on the case, debunking the assumptions of drug use before Dacera’s death.

Netizens, on the other hand, chided PNP for their incompetency in solving the case. They also highlighted the damage it had to the people involved.

Finally, one netizen said that PNP can now focus on ‘Killer cop’ Jonel Nuezca’s case.

Diaz is known for TV series such as Carpool and Oh! Mando. Back in 2020, Diaz came out as bisexual after screenshots of his conversation with a fitness coach surfaced online.

Marjorie Barretto will be sister Claudine’s source of anger to pull-off ‘sabunutan’ scene in her newest movie role

Actress Claudine Barretto will use her sister Marjorie as her inspiration for her newest acting role.

Claudine recently signed with Atty. Ferdie Topacio’s Borracho films together with her manager, Arnold Vegafria, for her newest movie project.

Directed by Joel Lamangan, the movie is a family drama in which Claudine’s role will have a sister who is a special child. Even though the script is not yet finished, Claudine said that she can truly relate to it.

“Gusto ko talaga ang movie na ‘to. Kasi it’s about quarantine… ‘yung mga magkapatid… the love and hate of magkakapatid.

“Tapos special pa ‘yung bata na hindi nalalayo sa tunay kong kapatid na si Marjorie ‘di ba? May paghuhugutan ako dito….sinasabunut-sabunutan ako eh. Ayun!” she said.

The Barretto sisters’ conflict is one of the most controversial and longest family feuds in the showbiz clans.

Their earliest reported quarrel began in 2007, which happened between Gretchen Barretto, Marjorie, and husband Dennis Padilla. Since then, their family, especially the three sisters, Claudine, Marjorie, and Gretchen were involved in a series of fights and reconciliations.

But in 2013, things got complicated when Gretchen and Marjorie teamed up against an online basher of the latter’s daughter, Julia, who was about to start her career with Star Magic at that time.

In a comment, Gretchen was trying to imply, that the anonymous basher is someone related to Julia.

“That basher warned us that if Julia enters Star Magic she will do everything to ruin Julia because she claims she is the teleserye princess and will remain that way till the end of eternity.”

Days after that, their mother, Inday, wrote a letter against Gretchen, divulging the feud to the public.

The letter says, “I am letting go of a child now who never wanted me in order to save one who has always been there for all, and with all of her love, Claudine!”

Their feud worsened when their other siblings interfered, taking different sides. Jayjay sided with Gretchen, while Gia sided with the other.

Years later, Gretchen and Claudine reconciled and were now up against Marjorie.

When their father died in 2019, Gretchen attended the wake despite conflict with the other family members. President Duterte, who was present at that time, asked Gretchen to shake hands with Marjorie but she refused. Soon after, they once again took their argument online.

GMA Network has reported a total of 98% household reach for the year 2020.

In their latest report using data from AGB-Nielsen, GMA Network said it has managed to cover more than 98% of households in both Total Luzon and Total Visayas.

In the same data, GMA Network also reported a 49.8% audience share in Total Luzon and 47.7% audience share in the Total Visayas.

“In both total Luzon and total Visayas, GMA’s net reach was similarly at 98.6% of TV households, while posting 49.8% and 47.7% people audience shares, respectively,” GMA Network said.

Meanwhile, for Total Mindanao, GMA Network said it covered 97.9% of TV household which translates to 42.2% audience share.

“In total Mindanao, GMA was able to reach 97.9% of TV households with 42.2% people audience share,” it added.

Although ABS-CBN has been in shutdown for more than half of 2020, GMA Network shared that from January to May 5 when the Kapamilya network shutdown its free broadcast, Kapuso still led against its archrival.

According to them for that period, GMA Network reached 95% TV households with 33.1% audience share.

“For the period January to May 5, GMA was already ahead of ABS-CBN in terms of both reach and viewership before the latter went off the air in May. GMA registered over 95% household reach and was also on top with its 33.1% people audience share during the said period,” it explained.

Meanwhile, GMA Network’s wider reach can be attributed to the expansion and sale of its digital TV receiver GMA Affordabox.

GMA Network reported that is already sold 1 million units of its digital TV box receiver.

“As GMA Network expands its digital broadcast coverage, more and more Filipinos are able to use GMA Affordabox,” it said.

“Recently, Misamis Oriental (including Cagayan de Oro City) and Camiguin were added to its coverage areas. It is also available in selected towns/cities within Metro Manila, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal, Bohol, Cebu, Leyte, Davao de Oro, Davao del Sur, and Davao del Norte,” it added.
